Hens with Heart is the first and only source for alternative hen party ideas that give back to the world and is Favoured London's new partner.
Founded in 2019, Hens with Heart is a website and community dedicated to helping people discover volunteering and sustainable activities for hen parties. Our mission is to encourage hen parties to make changes or choices that reduce waste, help the environment, or help others during.
Thoughtful suggestions that can be found via the Hens with Heart website range from spending the day volunteering at a local community farm, holding a beach clean up, hosting a clothes swap in aid of Oxfam, to giving advice about what to do with leftover food from your hen weekend.
THE HENS WITH HEART MISSION
Their mission is to help hen parties change at least 1 thing in their plans to create a more sustainable event and put some of the time and money spent towards helping others as well.
They are here to support you in making more socially-conscious choices while you celebrate, and give you the resources to turn that into a reality. Hens with Heart believe activities that give back - however big or small - can still feel fun, glamorous or special. And at the same time you can feel virtuous, fulfilled, connected, and even educated.
ABOUT THE WEBSITE
The site is intended as a hen party planning resource to inspire and enable you to give back, in whatever way suits your hen do; whether it’s something simple and subtle, or with a bigger impact.
Hens with Heart makes it easy to find and contact charities and other ethical businesses to organise activities for your hen party that you may have never thought of.
Hens with Heart isn’t just a website full of listings; the most appropriate charities and businesses are handpicked to forge long-term relationships that make a real difference. Hens with Heart already works in aid of Oxfam, Smalls for All, Bloody Good Period and the Marine Conservation Society.
ABOUT THE FOUNDER, AMY
The idea for Hens with Heart came to Amy in 2019 when, predictably, she was on a hen weekend. After considering the time and money that had been spent by almost twenty women in one weekend, it dawned on her that even a small part of that could be put to so much good if it were extended beyond traditional hen party plans.
Volunteering and giving back has been a part of Amy’s life for many years. She acts as a Specialist Mentor for the Prince’s Trust, as a mentor for Out in Tech UK, and is part of the Youth Leadership Council of the women’s charity Vital Voices Europe. Amy has a background in the fashion industry and has spent many years organising group and corporate volunteering in her later career at
Salesforce. She has used her experience and connections to create a similar concept for group volunteering and sustainable activities for hen parties.
